About Sheppard Ministries

Greta and Art Sheppard

Formed on December 11, 1985, by five founding members (Art and Greta Sheppard, Brent Sheppard, Grant Bateman, and Elton Alton), Sheppard Ministries Society has served as a covering for the ministry of Art and Greta Sheppard.

The Society’s purpose, as outlined in our constitution is simple: “To reach as many souls as is possible, through evangelistic crusades, marketplaces, the mainstreets of life, as well as within the Church, radio, television, in total obedience to the Word of God and total dependence on the Holy Spirit.”

Today, the Board is chaired by Rev. Ed Bradley (with Rev. Doug Fortune as vice-chairman), and Greta Sheppard acts as Society CEO. Jordan Bateman serves as Society treasurer, and Ann Nicholson as secretary. All financial statements are compiled by the accounting firm of Hill Harvey Stewart, Certified General Accountants.

In late 2009, with the homegoing of our beloved friend and brother Art Sheppard, a torch was passed at Sheppard Ministries, and the Board of Sheppard Ministries Society intend to both hold Art’s legacy of sharing the Gospel high—and forge a new one.

In recent years, Greta Sheppard has taken the lead role with Sheppard Ministries. She has traveled the world, preaching the Gospel of Christ’s grace at churches, camps, retreats, and women’s groups. She has written several books, tackling difficult issues like forgiveness and overcoming sexual abuse. She has performed weddings for dozens of couples, bringing God’s blessing to their marriages. She has embraced new ways of communication, like Facebook, an audio book, and a weblog, to encourage and strengthen the Body of Christ.

As the Board of Directors, we ask for your help in supporting Greta’s ministry, and this new era for Sheppard Ministries. We are looking for people like you to commit to supporting Greta’s ministry every month with a financial donation.

Sheppard Ministries Society is a financially modest operation, and God—through the generosity and kindness of people like you—has been gracious and met every need. With Art’s passing, we felt it was important to let you know that the Sheppard Ministries Board has sought the Lord and is compelled to continue in order to support Greta’s ministry.

But we need your help. We are building a steady base of monthly donors—people who are committed in both finances and prayer—to supporting Greta and Sheppard Ministries. If the Lord is moving on you to help us in this effort, please e-mail gretasheppard@shaw.ca.

Thank you and God bless,
The Board of the Sheppard Ministries Society
